OUR MISSION

We believe that global financial markets should be efficient, programmable, and frictionless

The backbone of our financial system remains entangled in a complex web of inefficiency. This sprawling ecosystem, crucial for global prosperity, is often bogged down by fragmented systems, outdated technologies, and cumbersome manual processes. Despite advancements, the lifeblood of our economy flows through pipelines designed for a bygone era.

At the heart of Float Technologies lies a bold vision: to disrupt and redefine how financial institutions interact within the market. We see a future where new technologies don't just patch up the old but reinvent the very infrastructure of transaction management.

Our mission is to dismantle manual processes and outdated mechanisms that have long hindered efficiency and innovation, replacing them with a shared, streamlined, digital-first platform to accelerate automation. We are here to rewrite the rules, to transform the complex to the straightforward, the inefficient to the seamless, and the outdated to the cutting-edge. This is not just innovation for the sake of innovation; it's a necessary evolution to empower economic growth, wealth creation, and financial security for generations to come.

Our Investors. We are proud to be backed by some of the world's best fintech and early stage investors

Meet the Founders

We're a tight-knit group of practitioners with deep roots in capital markets technology, product development, and distribution. Our journey is fueled by a commitment to meet the complex needs of today's institutions with simplicity and efficiency.

Andy Phillips
CEO
Andy’s path to founding Float involved a long and successful career at Goldman Sachs, where he refined his passions for technology and craftsmanship. His mission with Float is to revolutionize the fragmented ecosystem of capital markets, replacing outdated technology with a platform that redefines industry interactions. Andy’s vision combines product and design-led thinking with modern technology to create more accessible and efficient markets for all.

“True innovation happens when creativity and technology converge, transforming challenges into opportunities. At Float, we are passionate about disrupting the status quo and reimagining the future of finance.”

At Goldman Sachs, Andy built the Marquee platform from the ground up, growing the team to 250 people and creating products used by tens of thousands. His work not only launched new business lines but also fostered a culture of innovation within the organization. Prior to Marquee, as a co-leader of the Systematic Trading Strategies team, he designed new trading strategies and developed technology to manage complex positions and sophisticated analytics.

In his spare time, Andy enjoys traveling, reading, running, and snowboarding. His ability to pursue big ideas and create next-generation platforms differentiate him, reflecting his commitment to innovation and excellence.

Andy grew up in Bristol, England, and studied computer science at the University of Cambridge, and financial mathematics at NYU.
Lauren Ash
COO
Lauren's journey into founding Float is fueled by over two decades of navigating the intricacies of capital markets. Having experienced firsthand the frustrations inherent in transaction management, Lauren is on a mission to usher in radical change.

“Professional investors should be able to trade whatever they deem best to achieve their desired outcomes, with technology as an enabler rather than an impediment.”

Her tenacity, empathy, and rebellious spirit are cornerstones of her approach to founding Float. These qualities were developed in her prior roles, notably at Goldman Sachs and Citi, where she spearheaded innovative initiatives that challenged industry norms and drove exceptional growth. Lauren thrives on tackling the toughest assignments, whether it's building a new SaaS business within a top sales and trading franchise or designing cutting-edge structured products to serve the complex needs of high net worth investors.

Lauren finds joy in understanding the motivations of others, a trait that helps her serve her clients and deliver optimal commercial outcomes. Outside of the office, you might find her exploring different corners of the world, mastering a new yoga pose, or reading anything and everything.

Lauren was born and raised in Manchester, England. She studied law at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Nottingham and started her career as a derivatives lawyer at Allen & Overy.
Tyler Evans
Engineering
Tyler's journey from Sydney, Australia to the forefront of fintech is marked by a passion for rapid prototyping and cutting-edge technology. His founding of Float stems from a deep conviction that modern technology can reshape the finance industry, liberating institutions from legacy protocols.

“Taking advantage of new technologies is very difficult for investment firms to do without hiring an army of engineers. Through Float, we’re democratizing access to a myriad of powerful, game-changing technologies, and providing a modern API-first developer experience for engineers to build on top of.”

At Goldman Sachs and Balyasny Asset Management, Tyler's engineering leadership has pushed boundaries and driven significant innovations. He designed and built the foundations for BAM's macro platform, empowering front-office teams with critical analytics tools. His role in expanding Goldman Marquee's flagship portfolio analytics SaaS product underscores his ability to scale solutions to thousands of users, growing a high performance engineering team in the process. His love for rapidly prototyping solutions reflects his commitment to pushing boundaries and fostering innovation.

Tyler's adaptability, integrity, and open-mindedness equip him to spearhead transformative change in a complex financial landscape. Outside the office, he unwinds through golf, travel, and a deep appreciation for cinema.

Tyler was born in South Africa and grew up in Sydney, Australia. He studied a dual degree in computer science and digital media at the University of New South Wales and started his career at Deutsche Bank, before joining a tech start-up focused on real estate fractional share trading.

Tyler Davidson
Product & Design
Originally from the central coast of California, Tyler brings a unique skill set combining product management and design within the financial services sector. His journey into founding Float is driven by a once-in-a-generation opportunity to revolutionize a critical problem space within global capital markets.

Tyler's achievements at Goldman Sachs underscore his passion for customer-centric design and product innovation. As the inaugural design hire within the Global Markets Division, he cultivated a culture centered on product and design excellence. His leadership in defining product strategy and brand cohesion across Goldman's digital ecosystem further showcases his attention to detail and strategic vision. Tyler thrives on solving hard problems alongside a team poised to deliver elegant solutions.

His curiosity and commitment to craftsmanship set him apart, shaping his dedication to sweating the details and fostering exceptional user experiences. Beyond his professional pursuits, Tyler loves cooking, skiing, and live music.
